Told through vignettes of a short-lived Denver band of the same name, “Boat Drinks” is a dreamy, slacker rock song about the struggle to find and maintain friendships as an adult and the tragedy of losing those friendships when time or circumstance pulls them apart. The music is as bittersweet as the lyrics with dreamy horn arrangements over delay-drenched guitar melodies. Boat Drinks sets the listener into a tight pedestrian groove and gives the ears something think about on the long walk.
